Miisa joined the Group as a postdoctoral researcher in April 2026. Her project focuses on developing protective coating materials that enable optical hydrogen sensors to function reliably under challenging environmental conditions, particularly inside alkaline electrolyzers.
Originally from Finland, Miisa has a background in Chemistry and Polymer Science from the University of Helsinki. She completed her PhD at Delft University of Technology in the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, within the Department of Aerospace Structures and Materials. Her doctoral research, titled “Controlling ice propagation and adhesion through chemical patterns on smooth surfaces,” explored new strategies for developing ice-repellent aircraft coatings and surface modifications.
